Needle in a Gaza Haystack

It was hard for me to imagine what the IDF meant when they said that Gaza civilians were allowing tunnels into their homes for Hamas.

Now I understand precisely:

Does the IDF YouTube channel make sense?

The IDF has started a YouTube channel to post videos of their on-going actions again Gaza.  Personally, I feel their decision to neutralize the Gaza threat is long overdue and justified.   Launching rockets into ANY country for no apparent reason is call for action.  Period.  While I agree there are some people who need help understanding why Israel is fighting Hamas,  I’m not sure that YouTube is the way to do it.

What I’m confused about is why the IDF felt a need to post YouTube videos that look like standard guided missile footage from an aircrafts cockpit.  While they’re really bad ass and cool, I don’t particularly see any PR value in them.  I  mean, as far as I can tell, they could be from any battle or country.   I’m no target analysis expert nor do I think most of the civilian population are.

Can anyone actually identify a “weapons smuggling tunnel” or “terror targets” or “weapons stores” in these videos?

Case in point, now watch a British Tornado in Iraq:

Can you tell the difference? Neither can I.

The purpose of the IDF YouTube channel is to help people understand Israel’s mission and to prove they’re only targeting legitimate military targets. But who’s to say if it’s true unless you’re an expert at analyzing these things?

Israel Concerned About U.S. Controlled Radar

Update on X-band radar

This may be the most ridiculous statement I’ve heard from the IDF as of late:

Israel is wary of the deployment of the new US high-powered radar facility in the Negev, Israeli officials were quoted as saying Thursday.

“It’s a like a pair of golden handcuffs on Israel,” one top official told Time Magazine.

The magazine reported that IDF officials feared that although the radar would enhance Israel’s protection against Iran, it might also reveal Israel’s military secrets to the US.

The radar will allow the US to keep a close watch on anything moving in Israeli skies, “even a bee”, a top Israeli official, who asked not to be identified, told Time.

“Even a husband and wife have a few things they would like to keep from each other,” said the official. “Now we’re standing without our clothes off in front of America.”

I heart Israel just like a vast majority of Americans heart Israel. But really?  We’re in one of the most sensitive and potentially destructive times for the State of Israel (Iranian threat).  Is it just me or does this concern of revealing secrets to the United States sound more like hurt pride over American technology run by American soldiers on Israeli soil?

Palestinian Sad Rag Report of the Day

From the International Middle East Media Center (IMEMC) ( or, Islam Makes Everyone Magically Confusional.  Yes, confusional is a word):

Israeli troops kidnap young boy

The Israeli army entered Hebron on Tuesday morning and kidnapped a local fourteen year old boy.

According to local reports, Israeli troops surrounded the city, erecting several checkpoints at village entrances close to Hebron, on main roads and near the Israeli settlements. The Israeli army also imposed curfew on the area.

Eye witnesses reported that the troops kidnapped fourteen year old Muhammad Ewewi and took him to an unknown destination.

First of all, a 14 year old teenager is perfectly capable of committing a criminal act. You call that fella a child? I think not. Teenagers are especially susceptible to molding and I wouldn’t disregard being shaped into a terrorist pawns as documented here and here.

Second, he was kidnapped??  uh…  last time I checked, a kidnapping usually involves the use of hostages, extracting ransom, or fraud.   Are we having trouble with translation again?  I know English can be a complicated language so let me help you out with this one.  Replace kidnapped with arrested.  There.  You see?  That wasn’t so hard, was it?

UPDATE: And another example of a “young boy” reported by ynet today.

Palestinian Infiltration Into Israeli Military Base!

….to steal office supplies??

Tired of scribing their jihadist plots of doom on tree bark and sand, one Palestinian took the “office supply shortage” into his own hands.

A Palestinian infiltrated an IDF base in the Jordan Valley Saturday morning and apparently stole a large amount of office supplies. The man fled the base after a soldier who spotted him fired shots into the air.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said the Palestinian was unarmed and that the infiltration was criminally-motivated.

Now if they could only get PowerPoint up and running….
