Because stupidity breeds ignorance [Link Cache]

I don’t know about you but I’ve got an itch for a good link cache:

  • Milblogging has added official DoD blogs to their site.  hoorah!
  • An amazing quote by Evangelist Pat Robertson and it’s not what you think.  This just goes to show how President Obama has the influence to melt wing-nut ice.
  • Continuing his transparency promise, Recovery.gov is launched.
  • Remember the wing-nuts who were crying bloody murder because an ex-Gitmo inmate turned to al-Qaida after he was released?  Yeah, well, he surrendered himself to Saudi authorities.  Suck it.
  • Random link: If you’re worried about your family and boss “friending” you on Facebook, find out how to accept them safely.
  • Secret Provision in Stimulus Bill Forces Gay Muslim Marriage
  • D0D announces Afghanistan deployment details
  • Green energy is the future, dammit.  See what the new stimulus package has in store for it.

Weekend Catch-Up [Link Cache]

Back in Israel!  I flew Polish air which (not to perpetuate stereotypes) was one of the most “interesting” trans-continental flights I’ve ever made.  I had looked forward to my 8 hour layover in Warsaw to catch up on all things internet oriented but was shocked to find no internet available at the Chopin International Airport (no matter how many American dollars I threw at the staff).  My flight into Tel Aviv included nearly 50 French teenagers who appeared to be on some sort of Jewish excursion to the Holy Land.  The plane was 30 minutes late because of their refusal to sit down in their seats.   My god, teenagers are the same regardless of their country.

Link cache time!

Wha'd I Miss the Last Few Days [Link Cache]

Ms. Missive has been busy.  She’s been doing a lot of torturous cleaning and shopping this week.  These are two things she loathes but finds them necessary occasionally.  She is also speaking in 3rd person today.  She wants to celebrate this 3rd person-ation with a link cache.  She hopes you find it enlightening:

I'm boycotting politics…. for one day [Link Cache]

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

I’m sick of hearing more stupid things megalomaniac Blagojevich says.   I’m cranky at the wingnuts who are HOPING Obama flushes America down the toilet just so they can say, “I told you so“.  I’m wishing those dicks on Wallstreet who’ve received enough in bonuses this year to support a small country would just jump already.  And a special ‘fuck you’ to John Thain’s $87,000 rug.

Happy anti-politics Friday!

We're still breathing. Whatdyaknow. [Link Cache]

It’s the 2nd full day of the Obama Presidency.  It’s also a Thursday.  What I mean is there’s nothing significant about this day.  Unless you celebrate the birth of DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Link cache!

  • Question:  Who wins the award for drama queen of the year?  The conservative right!  Obama takes the oath AGAIN to put to rest the hissing from wingnuts who would be sure to hold his flub over his head for the rest of this life.
  • It’s a sad day for nepotism.
  • Onion:  Hillary Clinton mouths along to the presidential oath
  • Bin Laden wants peace.  Oh sure, Mr. Laden.  Just come out of whatever cave you’ve been hiding in.  We promise to take good care of you.
  • Electronic Jenga is less messy, true.  But really?

Day 1 of the new era [Link Cache]

It’s more a state of mind, people.  The world really hasn’t changed all that much:

  • Obama has inspired many of us to improve our integrity, honesty, and commitment to our country.  Yet we still have these fuckers who see his Presidency as an opportunity to spread viruses.  Caution.
  • And the most recent feed added to my Google Reader?  This site.
  • Holding to their promise, Israel has completely withdrawn from Gaza.  Clean mess slate for the Obama cabinet?
  • Remember the ban Israel placed on Arab parties running in next months election?  It’s been revoked.  Democracy wins in the end. My faith in Israel is even more resolute.
  • Just another day at the office:  Hillary Clinton confirmed, Obama lifts ban on overseas abortions, American children are named Hitler… wait, wah???

MLK Day plus 24 hours to go! [Link Cache]

A lot of folks had the day off today in the U.S. (and rightfully so) for Martin Luther King Day.  I think this MLK Day is the most “buzziest” since it’s inception in 1986 considering that tomorrow will be the inauguration of our nation’s first black President.

Let’s revel in these final hours of the Bush administration with a link cache:

  • Check out Obama’s bad ass super Presidential fortress limo!  Woooowzah!  And keep an eye out for the gatling gun suburban that will follow behind Obama’s limo.
  • Was Joe Biden given the choice between VP and Sect. of State?  Who the fuck cares.  Bush is outa here!
  • “A melancholy former President George Herbert Walker Bush and his wife Barbara….”   Farewell!
  • The one organization banking from the recent economic downturn, The Military!
  • Prop 8 donors want to stay anonymous.  TOO LATE!
  • Inflatable Military Decoys.
  • Gaza truce is holding and Israel is pulling out.  That’s what she said.
  • Onion:  Difficult to tell if T.J. Maxx hit hard by recession

P.S. I’ll be glued to the T.V. set tomorrow morning recording and live blogging the whole damn inauguration. Yes, maybe the event’s a little overblown but I can’t argue with it being historic.

48 hours, people! [Link Cache]

We have two days before the inauguration and everything is in full swing in Washington.  Bush has already moved to Camp David.  Obama and Biden have already rolled into DC by train.  Israel called a unilateral cease-fire so Americans can enjoy just one damn thing without whispers of blood shed in their ear…  er…  wait:

Link cache!

  • Obama praises Israel for its unilateral cease-fire yesterday but has sworn not to elaberate his position until he’s, well, sworn.
  • Don’t expect any immediate answers from Obama about Israel on Tuesday.   He’s got TEN inaugural balls to attend.
  • What’s up with that Blagojevich guy lately?  His legal team has announced they would boycott proceedings because they too closely resembled a political lynching.  The fun never ends with this guy.
  • Unofficial drinks of the Obama Presidency.
  • Israel has stopped fighting… Hamas continues to launch rockets.
  • Most of you will be working on Tuesday but here is a guide  of the inauguration… just in case.
  • …lastly,  hi-fucking-larious!

It's Cold. My Arm is Sore. [Link Cache]

I just made my first visit to the VA clinic in the Chicagoland area (where it’s negative frickin’ 20 degrees).  I’m very impressed with the VA medical service although they obviously need more funding (as evidenced by the tiny building situated inside an industrial quarter of suburban Chicago).

Regardless, here’s a link cache to enjoy while I regenerate the 6 viles of blood they leeched out of me:

A drop in the bucket of 2009 [Link Cache]

Sunday football has lost its luster for me as my beloved Bears are maxin’ and relaxin’ after a highly disappointing end to their season.  I’m so bitter that I can’t even name one playoff team.  If it ain’t the Bears then… meh.

With that being said, 2009 is about to enter it’s 2nd full week and already it’s been a doozy of a year!  While we’re prepping for more mud slinging in the coming week, here’s a link cache to help us drive on:

  •  NTY reports covert American actions against Iran.  Declined support for Israel to attack Iran.  Lots of crazy spy shit going on behind the scenes!  This story is huge. HUGE!  And I’m sure this won’t be the last time you’ll hear about it. As for Obama….
  • …he still isn’t taking sides in the Israel-Gaza conflict. Michael J. Totten defends his conviction to keep silent. Great blog post.
  • Speaking of football, ever wonder how that magical yellow line works on the field?
  • The army’s got a lot of changes in store for 2009….
  • And yes, Barack Obama plays Wii bowling.  Be sure to stretch out that Wii arm, Mr. President!
  • Somali pirates who received $3 million ranson from Saudi Arabia (ironically) drowned.  Karma’s a bitch.
  • Lastly, 9 more days!
