I'm 100% behind Obama… well, make that 99.9% now

Overall, Obama was an excellent choice for President. He has discipline. He’s level headed. He knows that patience and logic are what will bring this country back to its former glory.

But I’m seriously disturbed over his choice of Rick Warren to lead the invocation at his inauguration. Obama’s choice of homo-hating,  Evangelical “preacher” Warren tells me two things about Obama:

1. Obama doesn’t give a rats ass about his religion (or any religion for that matter)

2. Obama has never seriously considered the equal rights to homosexuals as being an issue in the United States.  Here’s what Warren has to say about gays and what Obama (gasp) believes also?

Pastor Rick’s defense of banning gay marriage is the Bible. Pastor Rick says the Bible says marriage is between a man and a woman. The faithful nod approvingly and just accept that cause the Bible says it makes it true.

The Bible says a lot of things including the right to stone one’s wife for committing adultery. Also, should a man die without having a child it will be up to his next of kin to impregnate his wife. Bible says you shouldn’t eat shellfish or bacon. I wonder if Pastor Rick enjoys himself some shrimp scampi or bacon and eggs from time to time.

Bible says some crazy stuff. I’ve read it many times. I was in awe over how many wives and concubines King Solomon had…thousands. Most Kings in the Bible had multiple wives. Abraham had sex with Hagar to bear a child instead of his wife Sarah. Slavery was also legal in the Bible.

Obama either makes phenominally good decisions or abysmially poor choices. Does this man even have a middle ground?   He doesn’t have an ounce of mediocrity which apparently isn’t always a good thing.   Full inclusion of The Right be dammed, this was just a shit decision all around.

Thanks for the kind words about the blog, I voted for him too and blogged about it after the election. I wouldn’t have picked Warren as my choice to speak but then again, he’s not my holy guy.
