Obama's Chief of Staff: Let the drama begin [Jewish-Arab awkwardness]

Oh, dammit.  Just when I thought I would be proven wrong about Rahm Emmanuel’s Israeli father, Benjamin (who has ties to the  Zionist militant group Irgun), he goes and says some stupid shit like this:

Upon hearing of his son’s new gig, the father of incoming White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel was quoted in the Israeli newspaper Ma’Ariv, saying:

“Obviously, he’ll influence the president to be pro-Israel. Why wouldn’t he? What is he, an Arab? He’s not going to be mopping floors at the White House.

Insert foot in mouth, for god’s sake.

Of course, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee had a small anger induced implosion over the quote and demanded an apology.  To which Rahm Emmanual responded to by calling the president of the AAADC to apologize and schedule a face-to-face.

Get used to it, Rahm.
