Ladies and gentleman, Vice President Dick Cheney!
Interview of the Vice President by Martha Raddatz, ABC News
Q Let me go back to the Americans. Two-thirds of Americans say [the Iraq war] is not worth fighting, and they’re looking at the value gain versus the cost in American lives, certainly, and Iraqi lives.
THE VICE PRESIDENT: So?
Q So — you don’t care what the American people think?
THE VICE PRESIDENT: No, I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls.
I don’t think anything wraps up the Bush administration better than these words from our honorable VP. As far as my understanding goes, I’m fairly certain that the function of public office is to “serve the people”. But I suppose the words of the VP aren’t a surprise to us. The administrations actions have long been demonstrating these words.

Heh, "fluctuations." It's almost like he's saying that, at some point, people actually supported the war. Ok, maybe they did, for like a week, but that was back when they told us there were WMDs out there. Maybe he thinks there will be another "fluctuation" and public opinion will swing the other way. I hate this man so much.

He's just an arrogant shit-bag biding his time until the next administration steps in. I hope history keeps on his ass till his dying day about how he's led our country into ruin.
