That’s what Presidential hopeful John McCain said Jan 24th at a town hall meeting in West Palm Beach FL.
Taken from Time Magazine discussing McCain’s current run for the Presidency, and the potential downfall his platforms may bring him-
At certain times, McCain seems to dwell too much on war and Islamic extremism, which he calls the “transcendent challenge of the 21st century.” Just as he hurt his chances in Michigan by leveling with voters that old-line jobs in the dying auto industry weren’t coming back, he risks alienating Republicans in the Sunshine State with his particularly bleak view of the future. “It’s a tough war we’re in. It’s not going to be over right away. There’s going to be other wars,” he told supporters on Sunday, without elaborating. “And right now—we’re gonna have a lot of PTSD [post traumatic stress disorder] to treat, my friends…We’re gonna have a lot of combat wounds that have to do with these terrible explosive IEDs that inflict such severe wounds.”
That part in bold there… I don’t know about you… but it scares the living bejeezees outta me. If I was ever thinking of voting McCain, that statement right there pretty much talks me out of it. I’ve seen enough of war, and anyone so sure of more wars in the future- is obviously not looking too hard at diplomatic options.
